I don't think of myself as any great philosopher, even though I have my moments of inspiration, but I was in another Smallville marathon and I began to think about relationships.

You see, in any relationship, there is an interesting energy that culminates. I believe most of you have heard the term 'chemistry' when talking about the relationship between people. However, I don't think many of you have sat down and actually realized just how true that particular phrasing is. In the world of chemistry, there is always the drive, the constant search for a perfect bond. Two or more atoms look around their entire world until they can find the person or group to bond to that will make them whole. Of course, the same can be said of many of us. We aren't truly complete until we've become a part of that greater whole.

The bonds that are made are just as important, you see, in chemistry, there is the type of bond that was an explosion in coming together, the ones that were just simply a click, and the ones you had to tweak with here and there to get them to work. Once these bonds are formed, it generally takes a very powerful, often dangerous force to rip them apart, and the result can be explosive. Again I point out, that this is not very different from human nature.

I find it fairly difficult to sit around with strangers and just, relax, but if someone I know is around, or if I'm with a group of people I know, well, then I'm more at ease, and things feel a lot more complete. It's because of the bonds that I have made. Now, there are some bonds that can erode over time, it is a natural part of life, but most of your very strong bonds are generally a very complete, very true, honest thing, where there is no need for secrecy or lies. These are the bonds that are worth treasuring, and the one's you need to remind yourself of as often as possible.
